Unemployment Day 1.5

As I'm getting ready for bed, I feel pretty good. I have found two apprenticeship programs that I can apply for, one for plumbing, the other for carpentry. I am leaning towards the carpentry school, since it is 3 miles from my house and I like the idea of learning to build. Maybe I'll be a cabinetmaker! After all those years at the casino, producing nothing but cheap thrills and false hopes, it would be nice to actually make something tangible. I might be overly romantic about it, but I love the idea of MAKING something with my hands and tools. Being a skilled tradesman would be a step up from being a skilled cardsharp. Besides, I do play Dwarfs, so it would be appropriate.

  1. Not to put down plumbers and such, But being the son of a full time carpenter. I would go that route, not only would you learn a trade that can be applied to anything you have to do around the house, but cabinet makers make a buttload of money. Now as bad as it sounds if you could speak spanish, youd prolly quickly become a well paid supervisor, after learning the trade.
    Goodluck!

  2. If you do the cabinet making, you could get a nice sideline in cabinets for peoples models. I know I need one.

  4. Caninetmaking does sound like the way to go, and not just because it is indoors. Also, thanks for the heads up on Spanish, I think I might take a night course and try to pick some up.
